Reaching out for counselling can feel daunting. You might not know exactly what you want to talk about, or even whether counselling is right for you, only that something doesn’t feel quite right.
I am a qualified counsellor, registered with the BACP. I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and honestly about whatever feels important to you. There is no pressure to have the “right” words and no expectation to work in a particular way. We begin wherever you are.
I currently work with adults (18+) who may be experiencing:
Anxiety, stress, or overwhelm
Low mood or depression
Grief and loss
Relationship difficulties
Life transitions or identity questions
Feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of themselves
I have a particular interest in supporting adults who were bereaved as children, and those whose early experiences continue to affect them in adulthood.
My practice will expand to support children and young people in the near future. Please check back for updates.
My approach is person-centred, which means:
You lead the sessions, we focus on what matters most to you
I listen with empathy, care, and without judgement
We work at a pace that feels safe and manageable
You are accepted as you are, there is no pressure to be “fixed”
Counselling is not about being given advice or solutions. It is about being deeply heard, understood, and supported to make sense of your experiences, feelings, and relationships.
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, either online or in person.
In the first session, we’ll gently explore what has brought you to counselling and what you’re hoping for. There is no set agenda, you don’t need to prepare or know what to say.
Some sessions may feel emotional, others reflective or quiet. All of this is welcome. We regularly check in together to make sure the counselling feels helpful and right for you.
You can choose to work short-term or longer-term, there is no obligation to continue beyond what feels useful.
I offer a free 20-minute introductory conversation, giving you the chance to ask questions and see whether working together feels right.
